Have you seen the new chairs at Restoration Hardware???

Just wondering because they are mouth watering, absolutely fabulous.  I think my jaw actually dropped the first time I clicked on the page and I've been back repeatedly just to look at them, to dream of what I would do with them and where I would put them... what books I would read while sitting in them and who I would invite over for coffee but really just to show off my ridiculously amazing chairs.  Mmmmm... I think I'm going to start 'Imaginary Pocketbook Fridays' and it starts today with these chairs.  I would get six of the Spitfires for my dining room... two of the Atlantic Coupes for the living room and an Aviator for the master.  Its like I'm ordering takeout, I wish it were that easy.  My house would be saturated in these things but I don't care!  I love them!!!

Enjoy my 'Imaginary Pocketbook Friday' with me!!

Small yet Successful...

So I did some antiquing yesterday, which I love but Oklahoma City only has so much to offer... It usually has been picked over and priced high.  However I did manage to find a few treasures, and a few I might have to go back for.  Stella and I went to the Rink Gallery.  If you are close enough to Oak town and like to antique shop I would highly suggest this place.  It was once an ice skating rink and since has been concreted in and filled to the brim with odds and ends... It is divided up into booths and even has free refreshments on Sundays and Wednesdays I believe (I could have my days mixed up.)  So here they are, my finds, and the ones I left behind.

Louise Body... Yes Please!

I was looking for some wallpaper to cover the inside of a cabinet and closet in my hallway and came across this designer and I melted.  I only wish there was more of her! It has a antique flair but in a new way and could be use in an industrial chic design beautifully, I see it in a sweet kitchen or in my baby girl's room.  Here are a few of my favorites and some pics of her stuff in use... Hope you thoroughly enjoy it!

Red, White and Navy!

There are ten pictures that come up when you google 'navy kitchen cabinets', that are of full on all navy cabinets, maybe not the island but the perimeter cabs are navy.  In the other pictures only the china cabinet is navy or just the walls.  Out of those ten pictures, one is a before!  So nine... out of those nine, I like two... yet I am still contemplating painting my kitchen cabinets navy.  Its a puzzle, I know.  I am indubitably in love with this color, and I have to have it in my home.  My last home it was my office.  This home I want it to be my cabinets, with white walls, walnut floors, whitish countertops, subway tile backsplash...  I will continue to think about it but here are the two navy kitchens I liked...

Calcutta Gold to the rescue

So I have a new client, Brent.  His house was flooded in June during that incredible downpour that hit the Oklahoma City and surrounding area.  We, with his contractor Lucas, went shopping yesterday to find granite countertops for his kitchen, guest bath and master.  Along with flooring and accent tile or backsplash.  We were doing really well but stumped on the master bathroom.  What we found was either too speckled or had hints of pink, which totally freaked Brent out.  We tried one more place.  First choice... Bianca Carrara Marble... too expensive because we had to purchase to whole slab, and we didn't want to put it absolutely everywhere because of that.  However, the sweet girl helping us called over the manager and asked if there was anything else available.  "Well... how much do you need???" There was a have slab of Calcutta Gold Marble with a crack in the corner leaving a little more then we needed, but just a little.  So, for like 80% off we are putting some of the most beautiful stone in my clients bathroom.  I'm so proud!!

And here are some beautiful examples of it used...

Industrial Chic's sister Rustic Chic...

I was looking on one of my favorite websites today and found this house... It is beautiful!  Of course I would never show you anything I didn't think was stunning.

Anyway, this house has a two-tone color scheme, white and medium brown.  So simple yet so dramatic.  The walls are painted a fair shade of gray you can't really tell in the pictures.  I love the contrast and the way the furniture, artwork and lighting become the focus, they become what you are drawn to.  My favorite piece is a chandelier in the dining room, it is to die for.  I've seen it used before and it almost doesn't have a distinct style, it's universal.  It is designed by Ingo Maurer and it is made of wire, you clip paper to the ends.  It comes with love letters in different languages already written, but it also has blank pages so you can create some of your own.  Beautiful!!!  Enjoy the photos courtesy House Beautiful.

Lola

While we were in Arizona we were taken to a great little coffee shop in the heart of Phoenix named Lola.  It is completely Industrial Chic from head to toe and I loved it.  I was really trying to hold a conversation with my dear friend, Gina but I could barely consentrate.  Here are some pics I took while visiting...

Love the mix of a chandelier and warehouse lighting

Happy New Year... a little late in the game...

So sorry for my delayed celebration of the New Year.  It was a great one, however, in my tiny family of three humans and two canines, we dealt with bronchiolitis, upper respiratory infection, ear infection, stomach flu, dehydration, migraines, two ER visits, a doctor visit and so many pharmacy runs I lost count and if we extend the chaos beyond sickness, a pipe busted the day we left for AZ, our master bathroom flooded and our washer overflowed.  Not to mention half of the past two weeks were in Arizona which included the majority of a those... occurrences. Oh and my baby turned 1! (... and none of that happened to the dogs they are perfectly fine)

Stella's party is coming so more pictures will be posted but this is her enjoying her cupcake, a gift from the wonderful people at Cuppies and Joe.
